NYORA faced off against the Ellinbank Eagles in what was a close match for the first two quarters.
The Saints fought valiantly and were ahead by the end of the second quarter, but the Eagles soared high to dominate the remainder of the match.
Overall, it was a day with ups and downs for both teams.
But Ellinbank was certainly a well-oiled machine that played a consistent brand of footy.
Nyora coach Dylan Heylen noted the seniors first half was one of the best halves of footy they have played as a team in years.
“We played a confident exciting brand with loads of pressure around every contest. The improvement made in this first half compared to the first few weeks was huge!
“Our second halves have been tough, however we as a team believe it’s purely a mental hurdle to overcome.

“The ability is there to play well against the top teams. We now need to learn to win as a young group.
“Getting ourselves into positions to win is one battle, going on and winning is even harder.”
He noted that experience has a lot to do with it and they don’t have a lot with their current group.
However, they’re confident that their side is coachable and will overcome this and in turn be competitive in the second half in the coming weeks.
Best players on the day included Jordan Anderson, Jack Rosenow and Nick Anderson.
They now look to face off against Longwarry this weekend at home.
