MANY football fans will have noticed a mistake in last week’s AFL GRAND FINAL QUIZ with question 14 naming Collingwood as the team which holds the record for the most consecutive AFL Grand
Final appearances. The answer given was Collingwood (1925-1930.) Many will know this was surpassed by Hawthorn from 1983 to, probably the most memorable grand final ever, 1989.
If we exclude all the early football years with reduced team numbers, war years, the depression and move forward to the national competition starting in 1990 Hawthorn again leads the pack with five premierships.
Go Hawks.

Editor: Yes, well spotted Steve. It was a big week, but proving we’re all fallible, Melbourne also played in seven consecutive grand finals between 1954-60. So, the correct answer should be Hawthorn and Melbourne. Your feedback, as always, is welcome.
