Speed review before tragedy

I read of more resident disquiet regarding road safety. (Hopes for speed review sees slow progress, ST 7/23).

Council is aware that many speed reviews need to take place. Every precious small Bass Coast hamlet, including Woolamai, has a 100kph limit on narrow roads. 

School bus stops and rail trail crossings add to the danger, especially as more trucks and other vehicles use them as racy shortcuts.

With greater numbers of people - and vehicles - in our beautiful countryside, the inappropriate unsafe speed limit is a constant concern. 

Mayor Whelan, we urge you to lead the actions required - before tragedy strikes?
