THE Bang Bang Bar & Food Cup is back for round two — and it’s shaping up to be another classic Phillip Island Board riders showdown! After last year’s epic debut, the season opener will once again bring together mateship, banter, and bragging rights in a fun tag-team format that’s all about keeping the stoke alive.
The action kicks off with the sign-up night at Bang Bang Bar & Food on Saturday, October 25, with DJ Lachie Eastwood on the decks from 6 pm and team announcements at 8 pm. Ten percent of all takings from the night will go directly towards the club’s World Cup and ABB campaigns, so get down early, grab a feed and a drink, and get your name on a team.
Teams will follow the ABB-style format, with groms stepping up as team captains and co-captains, and each team nominating a power surfer. To keep things fun and family-friendly, there’ll be one parent assist per team. Each team will proudly carry the name of one of the club’s financial sponsors, celebrating the local businesses that keep the surf scene thriving.
A huge thanks to Bang Bang Bar & Food for backing the event again, and to Quiksilver, who’ve jumped on board as prize sponsors this year. Expect a massive raffle on the Saturday night, with a brand-new surfboard as the major prize, plus Quiksilver gear and Island Surfboards vouchers up for grabs.
