I REALISE I am like the “squeaky gate”, banging on about this, but unless I - and hopefully others - do, then nothing will be done.

I have now written to Parks Victoria on three occasions, the latest on December 27, again outlining the dangers of this ramp to the elderly, the pregnant, the disabled, children, and all users of this ramp.

I received a reply to one of my letters on November 17 last year that “a ticket has been created and Customer Service will forward it to the appropriate management team.”

To this point I have not heard from Parks Vic.

Have they swept it under the carpet, placed it in the “too hard basket” or consider it not worthy of their attention? I can see the point that Parks Vic may be held to legal action if a fall occurs due to the state of the ramp and injury results. This ramp is a danger to all!

Locals, and visitors rely on the ramp to gain access to the beach, the only one of five accessible beaches that is patrolled during summer! Yet it remains in a terrible neglected state - rocky, with undulations, a perfect trip hazard. I struggle in using it and have seen others needing help to negotiate it. The most pitiful sight I have witnessed was two women struggling to help a disabled male up the ramp. Hopefully by keeping on about it something will be done!
