THE Saints celebrated another well-deserved victory against the Yarragon Panthers in what was a low scoring but competition match.
“Well done boys, that’s two wins in a row against top five contenders,” said Nyora coach Dylan Heylen.
“It just shows how you are all evolving as a team and last Saturday against Yarragon we won every quarter.
“The belief in yourselves is now really starting to show and I expect more wins than loses for the remainder of the season.
“It was great to see Jesse step up in defence with the absence of the injured Kal to play his best game so far this season and repel attack after attack.
“Dyl along with Adam, Jordy and others continually pumped the ball into our attacking zone giving Scotty, Nick Ando and the other forwards plenty of opportunities.
“Proud of the way all you boys are improving, and you will start to worry even the top sides.
“Nilma Darnum this week can’t be taken lightly but we should notch up our third win in a row.”
Reserves:
It was always going to be a hard slog due to weather conditions and we matched it with Yarragon going into the main break just one goal down.
Yarragon simply handled the wet and slippery condition a bit better in the second half and a few undisciplined moments in the last quarter saw the Saints pay the price, by having two players sent to the bench leaving us short and ruling out any last quarter comeback.
Four disciplined quarters against Nilma this Saturday should see us having our third win for the season and staying in touch with the top five.
