Warrant executed at Silverleaves property

MEMBERS from the VIPER Taskforce have arrested a man and seized a range of drugs as part of an investigation into drug trafficking across metro and regional Victoria this morning, including a property at Silverleaves.

The investigation commenced in April of this year following a coronial enquiry into a drug overdose.

Investigators subsequently identified an entity nicknamed ‘Chicken man’, who was allegedly importing and trafficking cocaine via encrypted messaging platforms.

Warrants were this morning executed at the property in Silverleaves, as well as properties in Sale (2), Strathmore and Patterson Lakes.

A 39-year-old Sale man was arrested in Strathmore and is currently being interviewed by police.

Detectives also seized a range of drugs from the properties including cocaine, methylamphetamine and MDMA.

The investigation remains ongoing.
