PEDESTRIAN upgrades along Graham and Murray Streets in Wonthaggi are expected to be completed by the end of November this year.
Regional Roads Victoria (RRV) has been constructing new pedestrian crossings since May.
According to RRV, the Graham Street crossing outside the Plaza Arcade is expected to be open by the end of September.
All underground service works, and the installation of coloured concrete footpaths are now complete.
Asphalting and line-markings will be installed over the coming weeks.
While works have commenced for another crossing near the arts centre.
At Murray Street, street lighting poles have been installed and will be activated closer to the completion of works.
Electrical cables to the power street lighting have also been installed, as well as streetscaping consisting of new plants and seating.
Flashing pedestrian lights will soon be connected to power, and installation of artwork by indigenous artist Koorin Edwards will be added to the footpath.
RRV will also be introduce speed limits of 40km/h within the coming weeks along Graham Street, Murray Street, Billson Street and McBride Avenue in the CBD.
However, the project has seen 14 car spaces removed and two regular car parks converted to disabled use only.
While an additional drop-off area will be created in front of the arts centre.
