Young Saints decimated by reigning premiers

BOTH sides took on Neerim South this week in what were tough matches for the Saints. 

The reigning premiers proved they are one of the favourites again in our book. 

They are extremely experienced and play a good brand of footy. 

Our boys played a great first half executing what we planned to do. 

Our young backline did a great job against their talented forwards, however, excess forward entries during the third quarter made it hard to stay competitive. 

Our inexperience was noticeable in the third term when the better team got a run on. Our boys didn’t know how to react to their dominance. 

One poor quarter of footy made the scoreboard look a lot uglier than it felt. 

We played good patches of footy but a small lapse against a strong team is enough for it to turn south. 

Adding some experience this week is going to be pivotal to getting back to playing four quarters of competitive footy.

As a young team, we need to take a lot of learnings from this and make sure next week we are better.
