GENEROUS community donations from the 2019/20 Black Summer bushfires have funded 22 new defibrillators throughout CFA District 9.

The local brigades to benefit from the donations included: Allambee, Berrys Creek, Darnum-Ellinbank, Drouin West, Fish Creek, Foster, Hallston, Hedley, Loch (Nyora), Milford, Mirboo North, Neerim South, Nerrena, Nilma North, Noojee, Poowong, Ruby, Tarwin Lower (Walkerville), Thorpdale, Willow Grove, Yanakie and Yarragon.

State-wide, 426 defibrillators were funded for CFA brigades, after the organisation and Brigades Donations Trust allocated $1.04m to purchase the life-saving equipment.

The new defibrillators will bring CFA’s total to more than 1700, ensuring every group vehicle has a defibrillator and every brigade has at least one vehicle with a defibrillator.
