How to play golf like the rich and famous

VISIT some of the most luxurious homes in the world, especially the USA, but also in Australia, and you’ll find a games room fitted out with pool table, foosball table, bar and increasingly, a Full Swing golf simulator.

Many golfers will be familiar with golf simulators from their visits to a major golf store, where you can test out the suitability of a new driver or set of clubs.

But, these greatly improved, highly-realistic simulators are being used more and more in entertainment venues, and luxury homes.

And Full Swing is rated as the best simulator on the market.

Through his connections with a leading golf retailer, PGA certified golf coach, John Payne, working locally as the manager of the Korumburra Golf Club, has identified a demand for the golf simulator experience locally.

“We looked at the opportunity sometime ago to get one but it’s finally arrived in the past week,” said John Payne at the weekend.

It’s all about attracting more people to the Korumburra Golf Club, not only to play the course during the day but also to use the clubhouse and facilities.

“There’s five things we’re looking for with the golf simulator; it’s fantastic for practice, a great aid for coaching with its accurate data, you can play 90 golf courses worldwide including St Andrews and Pebble Beach, it’s an entertainment system as well where you can play cricket, soccer and a whole range of other games, and we’re looking to bring in catering from the Korumburra pubs and brewery for functions and parties.

“We were supposed to get it almost a year ago, but delivery was delayed and we’re just getting started with it now.

“But it’s going to be great.

“You can play a full round of golf at any of the great courses in the world, for two people in two hours, and three or four in three hours.

“Tiger Woods and dozens of players on the PGA Tour have exactly this simulator as part of their practice regime, and you’ll find them in a lot of luxury homes as well.

“They really do play very realistically.”

John Payne believes that the more people play the simulator, the more that will want to give it a try.
