LAST time we played Lang Lang at home and came away with a win and could see no reason why that couldn’t be repeated this time around on their ground, which is in wonderful condition so no excuses.
With our onballers dominating the first quarter they provided the forwards with an abundance of opportunities and did not quit making the most of it taking a slender lead into quarter time.
In the second quarter Lang Lang opened their account with a goal in the first minute, but Trav Stewart took a great mark in the forward pocket and his banana kick was true. The rest of the quarter was a very even affair till the last few minutes where a slight lapse in our backline allowed Lang Lang two quick goals giving them a slender lead going into half time.
The third quarter was a highlight of our day with some great passages of play. Jack to Scotty resulting in a goal and Dyl to Trav resulting in another was a joy to watch and we kicked 4 goals to 1 for the quarter to start the last 2 goals up – an upset was on the cards.
Lang Lang, who needed to win to get back into the top five were always going to fight it out and with two quick goals they had their tails up and were full of running and we simply had no answers. A few turnovers in front of their goals and some lucky bounces their way left us with our only poor quarter and a loss of 3 goals.
A great game by Jack Rosenow, Finlay Cousins, Max Mattock, Scott Pugh, Dyl Heylen, Trav Stewart and others. So close yet a few mistakes cost. If we had all our regular senior players available it may be a different story – we are still missing Kal Rigby, Sam Dixon, Marvin Sellers, Adam Pugh and now Connor Jester just to name a few.

Next Saturday is a welcome bye followed by very winnable games against Yarragon, Nilma then Catani.
Carn the Saints
A welcomed bye
THIS week we have the bye and for the reserves sake it is very well timed.
Not much to say this week except for what an insipid performance against Lang Lang. It was a total contrast to the previous week when everyone believed in themselves and was having a go but
Saturday there seemed to be little care factor and resulted in total Lang Lang dominance and not a single score by us.
