New radiology clinic opens at Phillip Island Community Hospital

1 min read

IMAGING Associates Cowes and Bass Coast Health have partnered to deliver advanced diagnostic imaging for the local community.

Imaging Associates will open its newest radiology clinic today, Tuesday, July 29, located within the newly built Phillip Island Community Hospital.

Delivered in partnership with Bass Coast Health, Imaging Associates Cowes is a purpose-built clinic offering high-quality medical imaging services, including low-dose CT scans, ultrasound, X-ray, and dental OPG (orthopantomogram).

The new clinic is part of the broader redevelopment of the Phillip Island Health Hub and has been designed to meet the growing healthcare needs of the local community. With a focus on accessibility, quality, and patient-first care, Imaging Associates Cowes will provide diagnostic imaging services for residents across Phillip Island, San Remo, and the wider Bass Coast Shire, helping reduce the need to travel long distances for non-urgent imaging.

“This is a significant step forward in providing local, integrated healthcare,” said Dr Raja Devanathan, clinical director of Urgent Care Clinic Cowes, Bass Coast Health. “The opening of Imaging Associates’ radiology services within the Phillip Island Community Hospital is an exciting milestone. It enables patients to access X-rays, low-dose CT scans, and ultrasound services locally, delivered by an experienced and trusted provider.”

The clinic is open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm and will support both pre-booked and walk-in appointments, with bulk billing available for eligible CT, ultrasound, and X-ray services. Imaging Associates Cowes will also provide outpatient services for the Urgent Care Centre at the hospital, enabling faster diagnosis and treatment for minor injuries.

“At Imaging Associates, we are committed to delivering compassionate, patient-focused care using the latest in medical imaging technology,” said Dr Johan Smalberger, clinical director for Imaging Associates Wonthaggi and Cowes.
