Eleanor into the final in Birmingham

LEONGATHA golden girl Eleanor Patterson was back in action overnight, this time defending her World Championships gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

With most of her field of competitors falling away quite quickly, Eleanor only needed to jump once, at 1.81 metres to qualify for Saturday night's final.

She cleared the jump with ease, just as her Aussie teammate Nicola Olyslagers did.

The two Australian stars will line up in the field of 12 for the Women’s High Jump Final on Saturday, scheduled to begin at 7:17pm AEST.

Eleanor will be looking to make it two gold medals in as many months in 2022.
