BASS Coast Shire Council commissions a new public art piece in varying locations around the Shire every year but a graffiti attack on the Sound Shell at The Glade in Inverloch was definitely not street art.

Inverloch residents and businesses expressed their dismay at the damage which was cleaned up by council and paid for by ratepayers.

Public art in Bass Coast Shire includes a Newhaven Public Art commission awarded to renowned Australian artist Geoffrey Bartlett for a proposed sculpture titled Alpha, a rib like sculpture on the CapePaterson foreshore titled Love and Precious Things by Joe Donohue, and clusters of small permanent lights linking the townships of Coronet Bay, Corinella, Grantville and Pioneer Bay.
