Korumburra Badminton Grand final results

AFTER two lost years due to COVID-19 it was great to finally complete a full season of badminton.

It was a trying year finding fill ins to cover those who ended up in isolation during the competition, but it was so good to see everyone sticking with it to get us through to a Grand Final. 

Player numbers were strong with five teams of seven and plenty of fill ins to call on, going forward this should keep Badminton strong in Korumburra.

Babolat had headed the competition for most of the year and looked certain to have a big win on the night but Stellar had other ideas and pushed them right to the last set. 

Stellar were in front with the last set to play. Fortunately for Babolat, David Creed and Brae Byrne managed a big win over Brad Peters and Paul O’Connor 21/6 to take out the final.

A social season of Pickle Ball is being played in term 4 starting October 5, on a drop-in 
basis with teams being selected on the night.

If you have ever wanted to try the fastest growing sport in the US you are very welcome at the Korumburra Secondary College Gym, Wednesdays 7:30pm.
