Love is in the air this Valentine’s Day
Ever a gentleman Sam Perkins proposed to a surprised Kyla Sheerin on Thursday.

PARTY poppers were pulled, champagne was poured, and hugs and tears were plentiful as Sam Perkins proposed to the beautiful Kyla Sheerin at Foxy House on Thursday (February 9) in front of family and friends.

It was a momentous occasion for the pair who had met the previous summer when Foxy House was at Bass.

A romantic at heart, Sam proved the age of chivalry is still current having asked Kyla’s father for her hand in marriage earlier in the month.

“It was time,” Sam explained.

“I started falling in love with Kyla around my 21st birthday – she has a beautiful heart.”

And whilst Sam is adamant he wasn’t nervous, Kyla pointed out otherwise.

“Sam was a little nervous, it was a complete surprise.”

Plans of an engagement party were on the horizon of late with the pair discussing their ideas.

As it turns out the pair will be celebrating today (Valentine’s Day) amongst family and friends, with a special afternoon tea amongst 35 acres of beautiful gardens in the Kongwak hills.

Their story whilst unique to them is part of most women’s dreams – countless lunch dates and special dinners, a gentleman who is kind, independent, and chivalrous.

“Watching their courtship develop was beautiful,” Foxy House Founder, Teena Ferguson smiled.

“Sam would ask Kyla out for dinner – old fashioned traditions. They are both such caring people and watching the love between the two… they think about each other when they’re not together.”

And whilst Kyla spends four days at Foxy House a week, Sam splits his time between Foxy House and working through Connecting2Australia.

“I love his sense of humour,” Kyla beamed.

“We’re always going out for dinner, playing games and spending time together.”

The pair counting art amongst interests they both enjoy. Sam is also a talented guitar player – serenading Kyla along the way.

Uniting two local families, the pair are excited for the next chapter, as they work towards living together and explore long term options through Foxy House.

Parents Sandi and Craig, Karen and Seve could not contain their joy at officially gaining a daughter/son into their families.

And whilst the wedding plans will be the next step, Kyla has noted she will be exploring more traditional gown colours.

“It’s good and I am so excited!”
