A Grade, Division 2
MDU defeated Glen Alvie in the only A2 game to be completed in round 12.
Playing in Wonthaggi, MDU had Glen Alvie’s total of 10/105 in its sights.
Paul Le Page and vice-captain Mitch McGrath opened, but Le Page was caught by Archie Moore off the bowling of Matthew Dakin for 10 runs.
His dismissal saw Sembakuttige Chathura Lakshan step up to the crease.
McGrath and Lakshan went on to make 40 and 33 runs respectively, which was what was needed to win the game.
The bowling efforts were shared between Glen Alvie’s Ben McRae and Matthew Dakin.

McRae helped to burn through the top order and was responsible for the dismissal of both McGrath and Lakshan.
Dakin slowed the run rate for the final batsmen before MDU’s win, including the dismissal of Tharindu Nuwan for a duck.
MDU’s winning tally was 6/110.
Kilcunda-Bass made a strong start to its game against Nyora when it made 10/271 the previous week.
However, inclement weather on Saturday made conditions at the Nyora Recreation Reserve unplayable and the game was abandoned.
The match between Foster and Inverloch was also completely abandoned due to poor weather conditions at the Foster Cricket Ground during both weeks of round 12.
