WHILE long-term owners of Shield Master in Leongatha, Phil and Sharon Jones, have retired, customers are assured of the same friendly and efficient service with new owners Brad and Belinda Egan retaining the existing staff.
Belinda and Brad have a well-established connection with the business, Belinda explained.
“Four years ago, we took over the shed part of the Shield Master business, and now we’ve taken over the rest,” she said.
That includes installing ‘Stratco Outback’ patios, decks and pergolas.
“Brad being a registered builder is licenced to complete decks, pergolas and small renovations,” Belinda said, with the business also offering security window shutters and roller blinds.
Belinda outlined the roles of the business’ seven staff.
“We’ve got a qualified roofing plumber, apprentice roofing plumber, three qualified carpenters, a labourer and Sheree in the office."
As a registered builder, Brad will conduct site visits and provide quotes, while Belinda will be busy with administrative tasks and business management.
Belinda expressed her appreciation for the help Phil and Sharon provided during the two-week transition period.
“Brad was learning the programs and how the operations work,” she explained, with Sharon familiarising Belinda with the required administrative tasks.
Phil and Sharon will provide ongoing support for the new owners when needed, something Belinda and Brad greatly appreciate.
Belinda summed up what it means to take over the Shield Master business.
“It’s a great opportunity to service South Gippsland and Bass Coast and surrounds,” Belinda said, stressing that services can be tailored to individual needs.
Shield Master is located at 11a Anderson Street, Leongatha.
The shed operation runs separately in Leongatha’s industrial estate.
