In last week’s issue in the article headed “South Gippsland’s finances too good, he says,” the claim is made that South Gippsland Shire Council has more than $45 million in cash available, $45 million!
Is there really that much money sitting there? There is no comment from the council denying this, yet rates continue to increase.
Are there plans for this $45 million, perhaps the community would not support, or what? Can the council please explain.
