Strong victory for ‘Burra secures final’s spot

KORUMBURRA’s 12A team are through to the GSL grand final after a 5-0 victory over Wonthaggi. 

It was a tight tussle early; Wonthaggi had two early chances, Daisy and Billie were holding the Burra attack and Burra star midfielder Japheth looked sore. 

Burra captain Tao Lin was amazing as always in defence. 

Addison’s class shone through with two late goals to take the lead into half time. 

Lulu was swung into defence in the second half, where she provided some great passing. 

Josh and Talon were solid, while Liam moved into the midfield with Japheth subbed out. 

Liam’s decisive killer pass to Addison put the game in Burra’s control. 

Marley made at least two ripping saves (helped by his new Mohawk) to keep a clean sheet and Addison finished with two more to ice the game. 

Cassie, Annie Harry and Reuben were great team contributors. 

Burra go into the grand final favourites to play either Leongatha Knights FC or Drouin Dragons SC.
