IN front of the large Pink Stumps Day crowd, Nyora amassed an impressive total of 9/312 at its home ground.
Playing against MDU at the charity day event, Nyora won the toss and went into bat.
Opening batsman Bailey Henderson led the charge, making 95 runs before his wicket fell to Sembakuttige Chathura Lakshan.
Jy Hull added 23 runs, but it was Aaron Kaddatz who showed Nyora was in it for the points, making 130 not out.
A slew of ducks through the second half of the batting order threatened to rattle Nyora, but tailender Reece Cordeux added a late 46 runs.
Lakshan dominating the bowling for MDU, taking 5/64.
He was responsible for two ducks and not only the dismissal of Henderson, but Hull and Cordeux as well.
The rest of the wickets were shared between Sam Bright, Mark Cantwell and Scott Browne.
MDU is set to bat this weekend.
Ashbury hits form
Callum Asbury also played a strong game for Inverloch against Kilcunda-Bass at Inverloch’s Thompson Reserve.
In the lead up to his tour in India with the Australian Men’s Deaf Team, which he is set to leave for on Wednesday, Asbury dominated for the Stingrays with 135 runs.
He opened the batting with Riley Harris, who made 32 runs before he was bowled by Brad Wright.




Asbury then partnered well with Jack Butcher, who made 54 runs before his wicket fell to Ryan Brown.
Fifth bat Jacob Strickland added 40 runs to the scoreboard.
Brown and Jaydan Tregear were Kilcunda-Bass’ best bowlers, taking two wickets each.
Inverloch will defend its tally of 5/317 on Saturday.
Donohue steadies the ship
Matthew Donohue saved the day for Glen Alvie with 100 runs against Foster.
Travelling to the Foster Cricket Ground, Glen Alvie won the toss and chose to bat.
Opening batsman Archie Donohue was dismissed for a duck by Jack Gay, and Archie Moore and Matthew Dakin went on to make 17 and 14 runs respectively.
Donohue was the fourth bat and managed to make his ton before he was stopped by Chris Ford.
Ford had an impressive run for Foster, taking 6/40.
Glen Alvie batsmen Harvey Smith, Wayne Luke and Andrew Dakin did what they could to contribute to the score, adding 32, 25 and 27 runs respectively.
Smith and Luke were dismissed by Josh Toner, who recorded bowling figures of 2/59.
Foster will be looking to chase down 10/242 on Saturday.
