Schedule change: Feature MotoGP race now on Saturday
DUE to inclement weather on Sunday, the Australian MotoGP will now take place tomorrow with the race commencing at 3:10pm
DUE to inclement weather on Sunday, the Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) has announced that the MotoGP will now take place on Saturday, October 21 (tomorrow) with the race commencing at 3:10pm. (15:10 local time/GMT +11).
The Tiissot Sprint is scheduled to begin at 2:00pm on Sunday, weather permitting.
Day 1 conditions saw a magnificent morning of riding, with thousands making their way trackside to witness the practice action get underway.
The fans welcomed Red Bull KTM Factory Racing #43 Jack Miller home, and over 300 students from local schools, including Year 9 students of Newhaven College and students of Bass Coast College welcomed onto the track to take part in The Long Walk.
Together the students walked the main strait for First Nations People before the official welcome to country. The opportunity allowed students to connect, learn and celebrate.
The crowds continued to build throughout the day before the final MotoGP practice at 2:00pm (15:00) until 4:10pm (16:20).
Saturday's schedule begins with Moto3 practice 3 at 8:40am.
