Thank you for the August 23, article titled “The vaccine dilemma facing volunteers.”
The article says the debate is still raging as to whether the volunteer organisations are required to follow the public health orders, at least now concerns regarding any pandemic in the community apparently are now over.
People, it seems, still can get COVID, vaxxed or not, and some even spend time in hospital, as society learns to live with this situation.
As the disappointed 20-year volunteer says, she, or he, can “stand with 80,000 unmasked spectators at the MCG” and “meet up with any number of their fellow volunteers at any venue, as long as it wasn’t CFA business.”
Many courageous workers and volunteers decided to reject vax mandates to much personal loss, also, unfortunately, many felt the need to comply.
Let each of us remember the overreach of governments, police and organisation managements now, and for the future, and especially this November.
