THE home team came out firing scoring an early goal but the Breakers tackle pressure was great and it didn’t take long for them to respond.

Despite good defensive work Edi-Asp got their second midway through the quarter and then goaled again following a silly 50 metre penalty opening up their lead going into quarter time.

The Breakers regrouped in the second with Ellen Williams having a great battle in the ruck. Molly Conway was winning the ball out of the contests with Tess Wingfield and Cloe Booth locking the ball in when it went Edi-Asp’s way.

The Breakers scored the first two goals of the quarter with a lovely set shot banana from the boundary to Immy Bradford and set shot to Tayla Stahl shortly after.

Edi-Asp were able to get one back bringing the margin back to the same as quarter time.

Lily Jack in her 50th match brought the intensity through the middle with Annie Dempsey doing well to get the ball off under pressure and provide a link down the wing.

Two goals to Edi-Asp stretched their lead out going into the last but the Breakers were creating lots of opportunities so were still in it.

Sophie McCracken-Evans had a great first game back – playing out of position she contested well and made great decisions on the last line of defence.

Finishing with a dominant last quarter scoring two goals and keeping Edi-Asp scoreless the Breakers will take some confidence into finals.

Final score: Edi-Asp 7.3.55 def Breakers 5.5.45

Best: Lily Jack, Sophie McCracken-Evan’s, Ellen Williams, Annie Dempsey, Molly Conroy

Goals: Tayla Stahl 2, Immy Bradford 2, Ella Cargill

Finishing the home and away season in fourth place the Breakers will face Tyabb this week in an elimination final on Sunday, 4pm at John Coburn Oval, Frankston.

With both regular season clashes close and a win a piece it is set to be a great match.
