NYORA put up a great fight early, but Catani’s fitness won out on the day.
It was a beautiful day at the Catani Recreation Reserve and a great crowd turned out as the juniors took to the field before the Seniors.
Nyora opened its match with a solid first half.
Despite a flat first five minutes, the Saints were winning through the middle, led by Lucas Lee and Jordan Anderson.
The work through the middle eased the pressure on the defenders, but Nyora wasn’t able to capitalise on its opportunities inside 50.
The intensity continued on through the second quarter and Nyora managed to get within seven points of Catani heading into halftime.
Catani changed tactics coming into the third quarter, and sent someone in to defend Lee, which tagged him out of the game.

The midfield pressure began to wane and Catani went on a nine-goal rampage.
Fitness continued to be an issue through the fourth quarter and Catani managed to come away with a 95-point win.
Nyora is still battling on the field, with 10 players out with injuries.
The Saints’ best players on the day were Anderson, Lewis Kennedy, Dylan Heylen, Lee, Fletcher Kennedy and Tyler Hotchkin.
Nyora has one game left to play in the 2025 season.
It will be ending the season with a tough challenge, coming up against second-placed Longwarry.
Nyora intends to give it their all in the final game, but will be celebrating with its reverse draw that night regardless of the result.
