LEONGATHA and District Netball Association are celebrating 60 years of netball this year with a celebration weekend to be held on May 17 and 18.

A celebration dinner will be held on Saturday night, May 17, at the Football Netball Function Rooms at the Recreation Reserve in Leongatha.

Current and past committee and club members are invited to attend.

The night will be in recognition of the contribution from many LDNA members over the last 60 years with the LDNA 60-year history book to be launched at the dinner event.

Dinner will be served and the bar will be opened.

Over the past year, 12 clubs from across the district have competed in LDNA’s winter competition.

“With special guests, we are expecting about 200 people to join us for dinner,” said co-ordinator and LDNA life member Pat Kuhne.

To continue the celebrations, photo boards, a BBQ, old-time games and Net-Set-Go will be held Sunday morning from 10am, May 18 at the LDNA netball courts for the public.

Tickets for dinner will be $80, and they can be purchased through LDNA-associated clubs or from the event coordinators at ldna60years@gmail.com.

History books can be purchased for $25 with ticket sales, on the night of the dinner and at the Sunday BBQ if still available.
