SOUTH Gippsland Golf Association held their Country Teams fundraising Ambrose day at Wonthaggi on Sunday. The blustery winds returned and blew all day and add the soft, wet course every player faced a challenging day.
The organisers were delighted to have a large field of 21 teams of either men, women or mixed combinations. Ambrose usually means some low scores and the Men’s winners from Ranfurlie of Grant Baylis, Angus and Jaime Ricardo and Jason Driscoll certainly proved this with a great 57(2)55 net.
The Mixed combination winners were a team from Wonthaggi Craig Harvey, Wendy Cross, Steve Brann and Layla Robertson 59.625 net. The Women team winners were Meeniyan team Andrea Thorson, Irene Holm, Tanya Thorson, Susan Straw 67.875 net.
NTP Ladies eighth Debbie Wrigley (Korrumburra), 17th Kaylene Hodgetts (Wonthaggi). NTP Men second Ben Fisher (Korumburra), 13th Jason Driscoll (Ranfurlie).
Country Week 2024 will be played from Monday, September 30 to Wednesday, October 2. The funds raised today will be used to support the Men’s and Women’s teams.
