THE Edithvale Aspendale Netball Club is spreading its wings and offering an opportunity for local netballers to play at the elite level in the U19 State Super Series team.
The Edithvale Aspendale Netball Club (EANC) was a foundation club in the inaugural 2024 U19 State Super Netball Series (SSNS), which is played at the Waverley Netball Centre on a Friday night.
It was a force to be reckoned with, making finals against rival Victorian Netball League clubs and associations.
Next year, the EANC will have two teams competing in the U19 State Super Netball Series, one based in Aspendale and the other in Gippsland.
The Gippsland connection team will be coached by local netball legend Leonnie McClusky, whose love of netball has spanned many years.
She had a very long playing career and has outstanding coaching credentials.
Leonnie has coached at the Australian, state, regional and local levels.
She has been recognised by Netball Victoria, being awarded a State Distinction Award and she is a life member of the Gippsland Regional Netball.
Currently, Leonnie is actively involved in netball as senior coach of the Nyora Football Netball Club, head coach of Southern Fusion Netball Club, and president, state titles officer and U15 coach of the Gippsland Regional Netball Club. Leonnie also umpired and is currently a B Grade umpire tester and an Advanced Umpires Mentor.

Leonnie is netball personified and her ability to develop players for the elite path is unsurpassed.
She will work closely with the EANC U19 head coach Jamie Easther and they will make a formidable coaching team.
Jamie has played and coached at the elite level with State and Tasmanian Netball League (TNL) premierships to her credit.
She holds an Intermediate Coaching Accreditation and was awarded the U19 Netball Coach of the Year in the TNL in 2022.
The EANC is a netball club with a proud history of success through player development across Football Netball Leagues since 2010 and currently also compete in the SFNL.
If you’re interested in pursuing top-tier netball and to date you have missed out on being selected for an U19 SSNS team, the EANC are offering this opportunity for you to start your journey on the netball pathway as an Eagle.
Trials will be held at the Meeniyan Stadium on Sunday, December 15, at 10am.
