IT WAS a big Sunday in Sale for Gippsland League netball, with its representative teams winning titles in Under 13s, Under 15s and Under 17s competition run by Sale Netball Association.
That made for a full weekend of netball for some players, backing up after Saturday’s All Stars matches in Traralgon.
There was only one level of Under 17s competition in Sale, while Under 15s and Under 13s were divided into Open and Reserve sections, equivalent to A and B Grades.
Gippsland League accounted for Mid Gippsland Football Netball League in Under 17s and the Under 15s Open section, getting the better of Ellinbank and District Football Netball League in the Under 13s Open section.

The Sale tournament is held annually as part of a representative program to grow netball at grassroots level.
It is unrelated to the upcoming Netball Victoria Association Championships but provides good preparation for those who will be part of that competition.
The Association Championships form part of the Netball Victoria Talent Pathway, with talent identification opportunities for players, umpires and coaches at all tournament days across the state.
Association Championships Finals Day takes place on June 18 at Parkville’s State Netball Centre.
