THE LDCA U15 and U13 teams travelled to Bairnsdale on Sunday, November 23, for round three GCL games.

Overnight rain left Bairnsdale City Ovals one and two sodden. LDCA junior chairman, Scott Checkley, said, unfortunately, the conditions meant play in the U13S was not possible; however, the U15 game was able to be moved down the road to a drier Meerlieu oval to play a shortened 30-over each game.

“Thanks to Bairnsdale, CA, for their efforts in getting a game for the boys under trying circumstances.”

LDCA 4/129: Max Johnston 32, Toby Nicholas 29no, Noah McMillan 14, Blake Ton 11no

Bairnsdale 9/62: Reggie Read 2/1, Aedan Parker 2/5, Nate Luff 2/15

Toby Nicholas, Frazer Livingstone and Isaac Richardson all claimed one wicket.

“A great effort from the players to have an all-round performance, and I’m sure the boys will continue to grow through the series,” said Scott.

“Thanks to Coach Lucas McMillan, Team Manager John Richardson and all the parents for their efforts on a difficult day. Special thanks to Evans Petroleum for their continued support of the U15 team.”

The U15s next game will be a rescheduled round two game v Warragul on December 14. The U13s will play Latrobe Valley on December 7.
