Locals join the big league on AFLW draft night

THE plaudits have come thick and fast from local football clubs after two local women were picked up in Wednesday night’s AFLW draft.

Joining her brother Xavier at Port Adelaide is Yasmin Duursma from Gippsland Power and Foster and joining North Melbourne from the Casey Demons and Bass Coast Breakers is Korumburra’s Grace Matser.

The Gippsland Power organisation praised the two Gippsland girls: “Huge congratulations to Yaz and Grace who have been drafted in tonight's AFL Women's Draft.”

Bass Coast Breakers Women's Football Team also posted its congratulations: “Woo hoo, we're all so proud of you Stretch!”

The two rising stars of AFLW were taken at 45, Yasmin Duursma (Gippsland Power) to Port Adelaide and 51 Grace Matser (Bass Coast Breakers) to North Melbourne.
