TRADIES and other ute owners in Bass Coast are urged to lock up their work and recreation vehicles and preferably get them off the streets after another spate of thefts in recent weeks.
A tradesman’s ute, reportedly with equipment trailer in tow, was stolen from Wonthaggi a few weeks ago, and in the past week, a recreation ute was stolen from Inverloch.
It follows a spate of ute thefts a few months ago.
While local police acknowledge there have been a couple stolen lately, it’s “nothing dramatic” at this stage.
They have however, urged everyone, but tradies in particular to lock up their utes, equipment trailers and preferably get them off the street at night where possible.
