NYORA faced a tough challenge to end its 2025 season, coming up against second-placed Longwarry.
Longwarry was merciless and walked away from the encounter with a 133-point victory.
Nyora hosted the Crows at home, where it hailed during the Reserves but cleared up nicely before the Seniors took to the ground.
The ground held up well despite the wet weather.
Nyora was reasonably competitive in the first quarter, with the defence putting nice pressure on the opposition.
Longwarry was kept to a manageable margin early, with a 23-point lead heading into the first break.
Nyora kept up the same intensity in the second quarter and the play was similar to the first term.
Longwarry continued to chip away at the score, but Nyora stood its ground.
Lewis Kennedy was a stand out for Nyora, taking some excellent intercept marks.




Jordan Anderson also played well through the midfield, claiming a lot of the ball.
Lachie Fievez, Dante Di Pietro, Dylan Heylen and Tyler Kirkbride also appeared on Nyora’s best players list.
Into the second half, fitness began to be a factor and Longwarry kicked away to an 87-point lead with one quarter to go.
The ‘end of season’ mentality also kicked in, which allowed Longwarry to widen its margin to a very comfortable win.
Despite the loss. Nyora celebrated the end of the season with its reverse draw on Saturday night.
Nyora is now in the throes of looking for a new Senior coach.
Once a coach is appointed, the club will be looking forward to kicking off its preseason training at the end of the year.
Nyora is also looking forward to its presentation night, which will be held on September 13 at the Korumburra Middle Hotel.
