SOUTH Gippsland Rural Australians for Refugees (SGRAR) is hoping to raise $4000 to help support an Afghan family.

According to SGRAR, the family has decided to travel across the border to Pakistan.

After discussions with Z (not his real name), their father and husband who is in Australia, they have decided to make the move.

Z writes: “To my friends who are helping me and my family in Afghanistan. My family want to leave Afghanistan for Pakistan in about two weeks mainly because of the danger from the Taliban and Isis-K. The Taliban can go from house to house knocking and looking for families that have a father in the West.

“They are scared. Isis-K explode bombs, we do not know where next. There was a bomb less than one kilometre from home.

“My clever daughter, second in class, loves school. For one year now she has had no school.

“She is very sad. My sons have small school with not many teachers and not many subjects.

“For my wife it is hard. She does not know if the boys come back when they go to school.”

SGRAR will send $4000 for the family to cover the cost of airfares, rent for a home in Pakistan and other necessities.

Donations can be made to Bendigo Bank Acc name: SGRAR
