NERRENA was named the 2024/25 B1 premier after successfully chasing down Wonthaggi Club’s score on Sunday.
The grand final was a top of the table battle, and the Red Caps proved to be the superior side in a close result.
Club put up a great fight on Saturday.
Playing at the Nerrena Recreation Reserve, Club won the toss and went in to bat first.
David Britt and Harry West opened, delivering a great start with 22 and 61 runs respectively.
Captain Sean Roche later contributed 22 runs and William Speed wrapped it up for Club with 50 not out.
For Nerrena, the bowling glory was shared between Ryan Clark and vice-captain Damien Symmons with two wickets each.





Singles were taken by William Croatto, Mitchell Croatto, Jaxon Checkley and Charlie Dougherty.
Club was bowled out with a score of 10/221.
Nerrena went into its innings on Sunday fired up for a win.
Symmons and Kade Berryman started the innings well with 29 and 28 runs respectively.
Third bat James Kelly just missed out on his century – stumped by West off the bowling of Bryce Evans for 92 runs – but had done enough to earn himself man of the match.
Joel Renden added 49 runs to the score, and Nerrena managed to chase down Club in the 68th over with Mitchell Croatto and Dougherty at the crease.
Nerrena won the premiership with a score of 5/224.
Heath Dobbie and Evans were Club’s top bowlers with two wickets each, and one wicket was taken by Shaun Tessari.
