INVERLOCH KONGWAK hosted Garfield on Saturday and the sides were greeted with a sensational afternoon’s weather.
Sporting a recent history of making things hard for themselves against teams below them on the ladder, the hosts looked motivated and ultra-focused to put this one to bed early.
And that is exactly what they did, the winless Stars going scoreless for the first term in an absolute clinic from the Sea Eagles.
Young gun Jenson Garnham bagged the first of the game and started a run of eight unanswered goals for IK, including a magnificent three for Tom Hams.
Garnham’s second for the quarter capped off the perfect start, his side leading by 53-points at the first break.
Fan favourite Lachlan Johnson slotted the first of the second term from the pocket, igniting celebrations from his mates up on ‘ressie hill’.
Garnham’s thrilling tackle on centre wing then led to Corey Casey’s first major and a nice intercept from Marcus Toussaint created a chance for Casey to bag his second, and he made no mistake.

However, he wasn’t done there, the Sea Eagles chained up with hands, tip-toeing the boundary line on the far wing before star Oscar Toussaint laced an amazing kick inside 50 to Casey for his third!
Toby Mahoney got himself into the action with his first as IK started to really press hard, but the young Garfield side stuck to their guns and were able to nail their first of the game 20 minutes into the second term.
Although the quarter belonged to Casey, who finished it off with his fourth for the term to extend the Sea Eagle lead to 84-points at the main break.
The third quarter was easily the Stars’ best defensively, they were able to finally stop the flood of goals and hold the dominant hosts to just 1.6, as the teams fought out a stalemate for over half the quarter.
The hosts led by 96-points at three quarter time.
It was apparent to just about everyone in attendance that the Stars had little to no chance of reeling in the fast-starting Sea Eagles, Mahoney’s second major opened proceedings in the final term.
Clint McCaughan finished off another successful day for IK with a goal, his side running out winners to the tune of 105-points.
The Sea Eagles will look to be potent again next week as they face a tough road trip to Western Park to visit the Dusties, while the Stars will search for their first win when they host Dalyston.
