A Grade, Division 1
THE rain returned around the LDCA on the weekend and claimed its fair share of matches. Up to eleven games across the league’s five grades were left abandoned after they each saw less than 15 overs of play.
All these matches will turn into one day affairs and be played out this Saturday as the same fixture.
As for those 13 matches that did go ahead, play will resume this Saturday as normal.
Korumburra hosted the reigning premiers Phillip Island at the Korumburra Recreation Reserve where they managed to play 25 overs.
The Sharks won the toss and chose to bat first and found the conclusion of play one wicket down with Heath Womersley (18* off 85) and Daniel Mock (24* off 30) at the crease.
Lachlan Cleeland (18 off 35) was the one Island wicket to fall, at the hands of Hemal Rathnayake (1/9 from 3) who bowled exceptionally well before rain stopped play.
