LEONGATHA Knights Football Club are exceedingly proud of their team’s performances in the preseason tournament hosted by neighbours Korumburra City Soccer Club over the weekend.
Saturday: The seniors competitions saw the men and women play up against local teams as a precursor to the impending season. Both teams dominated their competitions winning all group games and subsequent finals. This was a fifth Korumburra Cup for the Lady Knights under coach Peter Milkins and a first for the men’s under coach Bethany Milkins.

Sunday: Due to wonderful numbers in the Under 14s age group, Leongatha submitted two teams for the competition with both exhibiting great play on the day. Despite not making it to finals, both teams enjoyed their games and are looking forward to the start of the season. LKFC’s Under 17s team faced tough competition against fellow competition teams Inverloch and Phillip Island with some great games of youth soccer on display. The final between Leongatha and Phillip Island was a nail biter. It was a free kick by Oscar Murdoch that sealed the deal for Leongatha, crowning them winners for 2023.
