INVERLOCH has finally got their season underway and have done so in style, defending 146 on the road against Kilcunda-Bass.
The Stingrays were superb with the ball and in the field right from the outset, making it extremely hard for the hometown Sharks to score.
Matt Marston (2/56 from 29) and Wayne Chapman (4/27 from 22) punched in monster shifts, bowling 29 and 22 consecutive overs respectively as their side tightened the screws and didn’t let go.

Cameron Butler (3/14 from 6) then cleaned up the tail to seal the 24-run win for the visitors, despite an outstanding innings from Killy’ Bass number three Darcy Clay (56).
Sharks complete the win away from home
LEONGATHA welcomed Phillip Island back to Scorpion Park 2 as the Sharks looked to continue their chase of the 205-runs required for victory.
In the end, chase the 205-runs they did, behind two brilliant half centuries from John Manning (59 off 49) and Steven Niven (51*) to win by five wickets.
