STONY Creek Football Netball Club was well represented at the Suncorp Super Netball League grand final recently.

Twenty-five budding netballers from Stony Creek’s NetSetGo and U11s program were invited to the grand final, where they had the opportunity to walk onto the court with the players, perform the National Anthem, and present medals to the winners at the end.

It was a fantastic opportunity for the young players to watch on as the Melbourne Vixens took on West Coast Fever at Rod Laver Arena.

“It inspired so many of our juniors to be active and continue to enjoy their netball,” Kaila McKnight said.

“The game was exciting with just one goal difference, and they all sang beautifully during the National Anthem.”

Around 75 people from the Stony Creek club attended the game, with 50 tickets provided by Netball Australia and an additional 25 tickets purchased by the club.

“We were super grateful that our juniors were given this opportunity,” Kaila said.

“We’ve worked really hard on our junior program and we’re looking forward to seeing it continue to grow.”

Stony Creek Football Netball Club offers a NetSetGo program and enters two U11 teams in the Leongatha and District Netball Association’s competition.

The club is also looking forward to the weekend, when its U13 team will be looking for entry into the finals.
