A FEATURE of football in Gippsland this Saturday, June 18 will be the top-of-the-table clashes between Traralgon and Leongatha at the Traralgon Recreation Reserve and Sale versus Wonthaggi at Sale.
There’s a lot at stake especially for Wonthaggi sitting fifth and keen to stay in contact with the leading division.
Traralgon has made one change with Tom Said Going out for Matthew Northe but Leongatha has been forced to make five changes with Matt Willcocks, Jackson Harry, Cade Maskell, Tim Sauvarin, Jacob Lamers and Tom Crocker out for Josh Hopkins, Cam Olden, Jake Van Der Plight, Ricky O’Loughlin and Rhett Kelly.
The Parrots have the luxury of being able to draw on ready-to-go players out of their Reserves who are also sitting on top of the ladder, providing strength to the playing group.
Wonthaggi travels to Sale and has a strong team selected, adding defender Shannon Bray and Kyle Reid back from the VFL, for Jye Gilmour and Harry Dawson who have made way.
The host team Sale has made three changes with Chris Laverty, Ethan Dyer and Tom Campbell coming in for Kane Martin, Harry Ronchi and Patrick Tainsh.
The Gippsland League draw for Saturday, June 18 is as follows:
* Maffra v Drouin
* Morwell v Bairnsdale
* Sale v Wonthaggi
* Traralgon v Leongatha
* Warragul v Moe
