Water problem fixed at Leongatha and Koonwarra

WATER supply services in Leongatha and Koonwarra have been restored.

South Gippsland Water has advised at 8.59am on Sunday, August 28 that use for non-essential purposes may resume.

The authority has also thanked the communities of Leongatha and Koonwarra for supporting efforts to conserve water while repairs were underway.

South Gippsland Water notified the area at 3.42pm yesterday that there has been a supply interruption to the water main supplying Leongatha Water Treatment Plant, which services the towns of Leongatha and Koonwarra.

But no explanation had been given about what had actually happened to the ain.

South Gippsland Water crews were called out to repair the break as quickly as possible and the corporation advised on Sunday morning that the work was complete and normal water use could resume.
