NYORA held its ground against a strong Yarragon side but yielded a 31-point win at the final siren.

The home side took an early lead, but Nyora was hot on its heels.
The Saints had a chance to make their mark on the game with the first entry into the forward 50, but a missed opportunity saw a point added to the scoreboard within the first minute of the game.
Robert Hermann kicked the first goal of the game for Yarragon at the two-minute mark.
This livened up Nyora’s defence and Yarragon only managed behinds for its next three opportunities.
Yarragon kicked three goals in the first quarter.
Nyora kicked its first goal 14 minutes in and limited Yarragon to three more behinds thereafter.
The Saints saw the quarter out with a quick snap, reducing the margin to nine points.
Nyora once again came out of the gate strong to kick the first goal of the second quarter in just 36 seconds.


Nyora was allowed another behind, which ramped up Yarragon’s efforts to hit the scoreboard.
Four goals were kicked by Yarragon within the quarter, with Nyora kicking two.
Nyora’s goalkicking efforts were led by Paul Delaroche, who kicked five for the game.
The third quarter saw Yarragon kick away with three more goals before Nyora could get an opportunity.
Seventeen minutes in, Nyora was able to hit the scoreboard and kicked a second goal to see the quarter out.
By this point, Nyora had its work cut out for it, but it didn’t let up.
A tussle in the fourth quarter saw a quiet scoreboard until the seven-minute mark when Nyora finally recorded another goal.
It was an even quarter with Nyora kicking three goals to Yarragon’s two, but the damage had been done.
Nyora’s best players were Tyler Kirkbride, Jesse Heylen, Dante Di Pietro, Jordan Anderson, Lucas Lee and Dylan Heylen.
Nyora will take on new to the Ellinbank league Bunyip at home this Saturday.
