Power is unlikely to return to Mirboo and Mirboo North until well into next week.

UPDATED (FRIDAY FEBRUARY 16 2PM):

Thirty-three thousand AusNet customers are still without power following the catastrophic storms that swept across Victoria earlier this week, the latest outage statement from AusNet revealed.

“Our field crews have restored power to 14,000 customers since 8pm on February 15. We anticipate that the majority of AusNet customers will be reconnected by Saturday evening.

“A small number of customers in our hardest hit areas are likely to be without power heading into next week."

Worked continued for 500 field crews and three helicopters today in response to over 658 incidents across the state.

"This most impacted areas of our network currently are Ferntree Gully, Emerald, Cockatoo, Mirboo North, and Yarram. A small number of customers in our hardest hit areas are still likely to be without power heading into next week.

"Mirboo North and Mirboo are proving a particular challenge, and we will be rebuilding much of the network around the area. In the meantime, we are in the process of installing mobile generators to power the main part of town to support the community.

“Customers are continuing to receive SMS messages advising of their restoration times. AusNet apologises for the impact that this is having on our customers without power.”

If you’re in immediate danger, call 000. For emergency services, call the SES on 13 25 00.
