WITH an amazing first quarter that set it up for the game ahead, Korumburra-Bena was able to record its first win of the season against Garfield by 22 points.
The Giants leapt out of the gate and kicked a whopping six goals to one in the first quarter.
The term’s goal-scoring was shared by Paul Fermanis and Tom Crocker with two apiece while Jayden Deas and Evan Allaway added singles.
Accuracy in the forward line, as well as dominance in the mid-field made the Giants an unstoppable force early.
Kodie Walker was in everything around the play.
The back line was stoic, keeping Garfield to only one goal and four behinds in the first term.
The Giants continued to be strong all around the ground throughout the second quarter.
Guy Dickson was holding up the backline, with support from Kyle Brown and Tyler Newton.

In the third, Garfield pushed back and gave the Giants a run for their money.
However, the boys were able to hold their positions well and stand their ground.
Overall, it was a great game and even better win that the team, and supporters needed.
Paul Fermanis was pivotal as a forward line target across the four quarters and finished with four goals.
Korumburra-Bena’s other best players were Kodie Walker, Guy Dickson, Mat Borschman, Kyle Brown and Ryan Gillis.
Korumburra-Bena’s Reserves and Fourths also enjoyed a win, as did A Grade over on the netball courts.
Next week, Korumburra-Bena will be taking on Dalyston at the Dalyston Recreation Reserve.
Coming off the momentum of their exciting win, the Giants will be hungry to seek revenge over the Magpies after their loss in corresponding fixture earlier in the season.
