DESPITE a 54-point loss, Korumburra-Bena came away with a lot of positives to reflect on following its clash with top of the table Nar Nar Goon.

The Giants went in with nothing to lose and followed to through on the game plan set out by coach Josh Hopkins.
Playing on top notch facilities at Nar Nar Goon, the Giants used the ground to improve its running game.

A knock to the head to Lachlan Smith two minutes into the first quarter caused some distress for the Giants, but he was patched up and continued to fight it out.
Tyson Findlay and Tyler Newton were solid on the back line, helping to slow Nar Nar Goon’s scoring opportunities.
They led by example, demonstrating the strategies practiced at training.



In the midfield, Rhys Dixon led the way for the Giants.
He provided plenty of entries into the forward line for the Giants to capitalise on.
A popped shoulder threatened his game in the first half, but he also was taped up and back on the ground.
Evan Allaway battled for the Giants in the ruck and proved to be an asset.
Nar Nar Goon chipped away at the scoreboard through, the whole game, and ultimately ran away with in the last quarter, putting five more goals on the board before the final siren.
Korumburra-Bena took away a sense of self belief and newfound confidence from the match, and it will be interesting to see how this plays out through the rest of the season.
Korumburra-Bena will play Phillip Island for its first home game of the season after four weeks on the road.
This will be the first of three home games for the Giants.
The Giants are looking forward to the hit out with Phillip Island, hoping to give the Bulldogs a run for their money.
