SATURDAY was a big day at Outtrim with OMK’s Paul Harper playing his 400th club game.
Harper is an OMK life member, having represented the club in eight premierships, five of those as captain.
He’s renowned as a great clubman whose leadership has had significant impact on other players at the club, including those who are up and coming.
Harper’s illustrious career includes over 5,800 runs highlighted by three centuries.
While batting and keeping are his main strengths, he has taken 70 wickets with the ball, including one five wicket haul to the surprise of many at the club.
Now keeper in B2 competition, Harper has held over 380 catches in his OMK career.
His achievements have earned him a club batting award, 13 fielding awards and two Captain of the Year awards.
Harper made 14 in OMK’s win over Glen Alvie on the weekend, topping off the celebratory mood by handing over the keeping gloves to snavel a wicket with the ball.
That success ended the match and started the milestone party, as Harper finished with 1/12.
