WITH its sights set on building participation rates, Inverloch is aiming for success this season.

After a tough 2023/24, which saw Inverloch finish up on the bottom of the ladder in A1, the Stingrays were relegated back down to A2.

“That’s where we are at this point, but we are pretty young – there’s a lot of young players,” coach Kit Rotthier said.

“Rhys Newman, Cooper Newman, Ty Debono, Jake Dennerley, Jack Butcher – they’re going to be quite a young core in our senior side and hopefully they can have some success.”

Rotthier will be coaching Inverloch’s seniors alongside Dylan Clark.

Dave Newman, Brett Debono and Warren Stewart will captain A Grade, B Grade and C Grade respectively.

Newman will also be the team manager of the Stingettes, Inverloch’s women’s team.

“They’ve been going really well. They’ve won the last two grand finals,” Rotthier said.

“It’s been good having everyone come along to train together.”

Inverloch had a couple of training sessions at the Korumburra Indoor Centre before starting training out at Thompson Reserve.

“We’ve got our new bowling machine, which we did some fundraising for, the new nets and we’ve done some refurbishments to the changerooms,” Rotthier said.

“We’re hoping to make the most of the resources we’ve got.”

Inverloch is continuing to develop its junior program and will be fielding U11s through to U17s.

Will Rankin will coach the U11s and Newman will coach the U17s.

The club is also looking forward to another successful Woolworths Blast program, as well as a cocktail night on its social calendar.
