IN A playoff between first and second on the C grade division one ladder, Inverloch hosted Koonwarra L/RSL at the Inverloch Recreation Reserve and the hosts won the toss and chose to bat first.
The Stingrays were in dominant form once again, showing they’re simply a cut above reaching 70 runs before losing their first wicket, but they didn’t stop there!
Captain Warren Stewart (53* from 54) again went unbeaten with a classy half century and Jason Dennerley (80* from 35) dispatched the ball to all parts on his way to an unbeaten half century himself, including nine fours and five sixes to see Invy’ finish 1/170 after their 20.
Blake Smith’s (1/29 from 4) wicket the only one for Koony’ on the day, they had a tough afternoon with the bat, going down by 81 runs after finishing 6/89.
Shane Peterson (35 from 56) top scored but it wasn’t enough as Katrina Burgoine (2/11 from 3) had another great game with the ball.
Cobras cruise to the win
KORUMBURRA hosted MDU at Poowong Recreation Reserve and the visitors won the toss and chose to bat first.
Unfortunately, they couldn’t quite combat the Cobras bowling and lost regular wickets on their way to finishing 8/72 after their 20 overs.
Cale Schwennesen (19 from 25) top scored while Glen Barrett (5/9 from 4) had a day out, claiming a beautiful five wicket haul.
In reply, the Cobras did it with ease, reaching the Demons total without losing a wicket (Cameron Smith retired not out) inside 15 overs.
Sharks get over Club
PHILLIP ISLAND welcomed Wonthaggi to Reece Plumbing Park in Rhyll and the visitors won the toss and chose to bat first.

Thanks to a bright start from skipper William Speed (30 from 31) they were able to post 6/101 after their 20 overs, as Deane Mani (3/21 from 4) bowled brilliantly.
In reply, the Sharks too got a good start from their openers as Gavin Excell (28 from 34) top scored and was assisted by Wade Paterson (19* from 17) and his skipper Michael Cleary (17* from 17) who both finished unbeaten to see Island to the seven-wicket win.

Town over Killy Bass
KILCUNDA BASS hosted Leongatha Town and the Sharks won the toss and chose to bat first.
In a tough showing, Joe Reilly’s (25) was the clear standout as his side were dismissed for 76 as Yuthil Ratnaike (4/15 from 4) turned it on with the ball.
In reply, Town got into a touch of bother in their innings but were able to avoid any real crisis to reach the total with six wickets to spare.
Travis Strybosch’s (30) knock at the top of the order proved to be a great base as Hunter Bettles (2/27 from 4) battled hard with the ball in the six-wicket loss.
Diggers get it done
GLEN ALVIE welcomed OMK to Dalyston Recreation Reserve and the hosts won the toss and chose to bat first.
The Alvie got a great start out of Pieter Loos (54 from 46) who’s half century proved to go a long way towards their score of 4/92.
George Lomagno (1/14 from 4) did well with the ball for the Diggers who, in reply, managed the score quite easily thanks to decent knocks from Lomagno (26) and Thomas Walker (18) at the top of the order and Ben Maguire (26*) at the end.
Loos (3/15 from 4) backed up his strong innings with a great spell with the ball in the six-wicket loss.
